ARIA ANIMATION
Pjotr Sapegin's short animation, Aria, was very interesting on many levels. While watching and observing, I noticed that the story line is very relatable to our dating culture today. It is common for a person to meet someone, and even after not knowing them for very long, they become absolutely intrigued and "in love". As a result, they compromise every part of themselves and give their body and emotions to the other person. But since there is no official ties on the relationship, someone is bound to get hurt when the other person decides to leave.
The woman from the film was all alone until this man came along. He swooned her, she gave him everything, and then he leaves her lonely. Although he did leave her with some joy of having a child to accompany her, he comes back with another woman, only to strip her away from the only source of happiness she had by taking her child.
I think the overall message is that even when you are emotionally at an all time low, there is still a light at the tunnel. And the butterfly is a symbol of that light.
